Preparation
1Fill your silicone molds (muffin tins work too!) halfway with the beef bone broth.
2Drop 2-3 green bean "studs" into each cup and freeze for 3 hours until solid.
3Once the broth layer is hard, pour the goat milk on top to fill the rest of the mold.
4Pop them back in the freezer overnight. To serve, just pop one out and watch the "project" begin!
Best Time to Serve
Right before you head to bed
Purpose
This is an "enrichment project." The different layers of textures and temperatures provide sensory stimulation, while the high hydration keeps them full through the night.
When to Use
For "night owls," hot summer evenings, or when you need your dog to settle down for a long period.
What to Expect
A striped, icy tower of deliciousness. The bottom is savory brown, and the top is creamy white with hidden "surprises."
Does Not Fix
Will not help a dog that needs a bathroom break in the middle of the night.
Time to Effect
20-30 minutes of focused licking and chewing.
Safety Risks
Best fed on a tile or linoleum floor—frozen treats can get messy as they melt!
Not for dogs with extremely sensitive teeth or those who try to "gulp" ice.
Enrichment Ideas
Easy: Serve as is in a bowl.
Medium: Put the frozen cup inside a heavy ceramic bowl so it slides around while they lick.
Hard: Place the frozen cup at the bottom of a bucket of water for "bobbing for marrow."
Owner Tips
If the treat won't pop out of the mold, run the bottom under warm water for 5 seconds.
Great for keeping dogs quiet during summer thunderstorms or fireworks.
You can "hide" a pill in the middle layer if your dog is on medication!
